Improvised home office workstations, increasing screen work, and repetitive strain in everyday office life are leading to a rise in musculoskeletal complaints in many companies. Musculoskeletal disorders have been among the most common causes of incapacity for work for years. At the same time, organizations are under pressure to ensure long-term work ability and to implement legal requirements in occupational health and safety. Against this backdrop, ergonomic workplace design is becoming increasingly important from a strategic perspective. KoerperManagement KG, based in Weiterstadt, is now expanding its expertise in the field of ergonomics: Managing Director Alexander Gimbel has successfully completed his training as a company ergonomics officer (TueV).

The training course comprised 24 teaching units and included, among other things, ergonomic basics, legal requirements and guidelines, scientific recommendations from accident insurance providers, practice-oriented analysis tools, and economic aspects of ergonomic measures. The aim is to take a holistic view of work systems - in the interaction between people, work equipment, the workplace, and work organization.

"Ergonomics is often reduced to the adjustment of office chairs. In fact, however, it is about the structured analysis of working conditions and the derivation of effective measures to promote work ability," explains Gimbel. The decisive factor here is not only the technical equipment, but also the design of movement sequences, scope for action, and organizational framework conditions.

The TueV-certified qualification complements KoerperManagement KG's existing portfolio of measures in the field of workplace health promotion (BGF). In addition to ergonomic workplace analyses, this also includes, for example, (home) office health checks, exercise programs, and workshops on the prevention of back problems and muscular imbalances. The combination of analysis, consulting, and concrete implementation of measures results in an integrated approach that takes legal requirements into account and is economically calculable. Implementation is also possible in some cases in cooperation with statutory health insurance companies. Companies in the Rhine-Main area and nationwide benefit from a systematic approach: First, ergonomic risks are identified, then concrete improvement measures are defined and integrated into existing health strategies. The aim is to reduce stress at an early stage, prevent absenteeism, and strengthen the ability to work in the long term.
