Its molecular structure contains both hydrophilic and lipophilic groups, resulting in good dispersion effects and also improving the dispersion of conductive agents such as carbon nanotubes.

Battery manufacturers are extremely cautious about changing dispersants. Introducing a new type of PVP into the slurry formulation requires months of physical performance testing, electrochemical cycling tests, and safety validation. Once a supplier is chosen, they are rarely replaced. For new entrants, this presents not only a technical challenge but also a significant time barrier to market entry.
