Major Regulatory Change Requires All .dk Domain Holders in Denmark to Select a Registrar by 2028

Two key deadlines govern the transition. From July 1, 2026, all new .dk domain registrations must be processed through a registrar. For existing domains held directly at Punktum dk, the deadline to complete the switch is June 30, 2028. Punktum dk has begun notifying affected registrants directly.

The .dk namespace is one of the most widely adopted country-code top-level domains in Europe relative to population size. The change affects domain holders across all sectors - businesses, public institutions, associations, and private individuals - who currently manage their domains directly through the registry rather than through a registrar.
