Wuzhong district of Suzhou: forging an open hub for cultivating all-domain EAI robot application scenarios

On January 19, the Second Suzhou Wuzhong Embodied Intelligent Robot Industry Innovation and Development Conference cum the Conference on Promoting All-Domain Intelligent Scenarios Application Opening was held in Wuzhong district, Suzhou. The event unveiled a suite of policies for opening embodied AI (EAI) application scenarios, and released a list of demand for EAI solutions. To systematically advance scenario cultivation at the national level, China has issued the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating Scenario Cultivation and Openness and Promoting Large-Scale Application of New Scenarios. The Plan outlines a "Hundred-Thousand-Ten-Thousand" initiative: attracting and fostering 100 robot manufacturers, developing 1,000 real-world application scenarios, and deploying 10,000 intelligent robots to permeate every facet of production and daily life. Tailored to Wuzhong's local conditions, the Plan details 13 systemic measures to cultivate EAI scenarios, spanning optimized product supply, enhanced data capabilities, accelerated pilot testing, open scenario resources, innovative investment models, deepened supply-demand matchmaking, empowered innovation entities, cultivated smart terminals, built innovation platforms, improved scenario services, robust policy support, professional talent development, and upgraded infrastructure.

To ensure the Plan's effective implementation, Wuzhong district has recently conducted extensive consultations with key industries, research institutions, and innovative enterprises, culminating in three curated lists: an open scenario list, a supply list, and a support list. The release of the first batch of 100 scenario demand items at the conference reflects findings from in-depth research, with each demand targeting genuine pain points and innovation opportunities in the district's industrial upgrading. Additionally, the conference launched the all-domain intelligent scenario application open platform, designed to integrate end-devices-including drones, unmanned vessels, autonomous vehicles, and embodied intelligent robots-into a unified hardware-software ecosystem that spans multiple applications and scenarios, thereby accelerating technological breakthroughs, scenario validation, and industrial transformation.

Since its designation in 2024 as a pilot zone for Jiangsu province's future industry aggregation and development initiative in humanoid robotics, Wuzhong district has centered on the dual pillars of "robotics + AI" as its core and top-priority industry. By deepening inter-departmental coordination and driving breakthroughs across the entire industrial chain, the district has laid a robust foundation for establishing itself as a leading hub for cultivating open, all-domain scenarios for EAI robots.

While consolidating its competitive edge in core components like reducers and servo motors, Wuzhong has rapidly addressed previous gaps in whole-machine manufacturing and core algorithms. This has propelled the district's industrial ecosystem to new prominence, with a growing tally of top honors in embodied intelligence at municipal and provincial levels underscoring its hard-tech capabilities.

The conference also unveiled the 2026 Action Plan of Wuzhong District for Advancing the LakeTech Innovation Ecosystem and the OPC Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Training Program, while launching the Wuzhong Embodied Intelligence Industry Investors Alliance. A series of university-enterprise cooperation platforms were signed, injecting patient capital and cross-disciplinary talent-critical enablers for realizing the "Hundred-Thousand-Ten-Thousand" vision.
