The Best Films of 2025 according to Taiwan Film Critics and Reviewers has officially been unveiled, offering an in-depth look at how one of Asia's most active film criticism communities views the global cinematic landscape of the year 2025. Voted on by 161 Taiwanese film critics, the project presents a ranked list of the Top 100 Films of 2025, with One Battle After Another claiming the No.1 spot-outpacing high-profile titles such as F1 The Movie
In the spirit of promoting critic-driven film discourse, The Best Films of 2025 according to Taiwan Film Critics and Reviewers was organized by the team behind Taiwan Critics' 100 Greatest Films of the 21st Century-Konsatoshi MuMu and Spiral Talks Cinema. By aggregating ballots submitted by critics across Taiwan, the project aims to map collective viewing trends and critical consensus within the Taiwanese film criticism and cinephile community.
In addition to the aggregated film ranking, each participating critic's individual Top Ten list is also published separately,, allowing readers to explore diverse viewpoints and encouraging further, broader discussion.
Golden Horse Winners Secure Top Spots; Hollywood and Japanese Films Also Shine
This year's Top Ten List features several high-profile Hollywood and Japanese productions.
The winner of the 83rd Golden Globe Awards Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy,One Battle After Another, secured the No.1 position, while Sinners-a nominee for the Golden Globe Awards' Best Motion Picture - Drama-ranked second. Both original Hollywood films achieved strong global box office performance alongside widespread critical acclaim.

At No.6, HAPPYEND stood out as one of the year's most talked-about arthouse titles, employing a subtly sci-fi-inflected apocalyptic allegory that resonated strongly with audiences.
Additionally, Left-Handed Girl (No.5), A Foggy Tale (No.7), are all Golden Horse Award-winning films from the 62nd Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan. Left-Handed Girl also advanced to the Academy Award's Best International Feature Film shortlist, underscoring the strong presence of Chinese-language cinema within The Best Films of 2025 according to Taiwan Film Critics and Reviewers.
