Producer Susan Goforth Launches Patreon to Complete Funding for WWII Action Thriller The Red Head
Director Timothy Hines Set to Helm True Story of Dutch Resistance Hero Hannie Schaft

Los Angeles, CA - Producer Susan Goforth of Pendragon Pictures announced today the launch of an official Patreon campaign to complete funding for The Red Head, an independent World War II action thriller based on the true story of Hannie Schaft, the legendary Dutch resistance fighter executed by the Nazis at age 24. Filmmaker Timothy Hines is set to direct.

The Red Head tells the real-life story of Jannetje Johanna Schaft, a young Dutch law student who became one of the most effective and feared resistance operatives in Nazi-occupied Netherlands. Known by the Gestapo as "the girl with the red hair," Schaft carried out sabotage missions, smuggled weapons, delivered intelligence, and executed targeted assassinations-actions that saved countless lives.

When Dutch students were ordered to swear loyalty to the Nazi regime, Schaft refused. Forced out of her studies, she joined the underground resistance and later the Raad van Verzet, operating under multiple disguises and aliases. Fluent in German, she frequently deceived enemy soldiers face to face.

Captured in March 1945-just weeks before the liberation of the Netherlands-Schaft was executed on April 17, 1945. She was 24 years old.

"Hannie Schaft's story is one of moral clarity under unimaginable pressure," said Goforth. "This film is being made independently to protect the truth of who she was and why her choices still matter. Patreon allows audiences to help finish the film while keeping it historically accurate and uncompromised."

The Patreon campaign allows supporters to directly contribute to the completion of the film while receiving behind-the-scenes access, production updates, and on-screen acknowledgments. The funding model also ensures The Red Head remains free from commercial or political dilution.

Director Timothy Hines, known for his historically driven storytelling, brings a grounded, character-centered approach to the project, combining WWII action with emotional realism.

The Red Head arrives at a time of renewed global focus on authoritarianism, antisemitism, and the cost of silence-making Schaft's story urgently relevant for modern audiences.
