As a key sealing, fixing, and insulating material, it plays a role in supporting the stability and safety of battery cells and battery packs. There are two main types of Power Battery Glue: structural adhesives and thermal conductive adhesives. Structural adhesive refers to the adhesive used to withstand strong structural bonding. It has high strength, can withstand large loads, and has the characteristics of aging resistance, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, impact resistance, easy construction, and stable performance within the expected life. Structural adhesive is mainly used for structural bonding between battery cells, playing a role in reliable connection and fixation. Compared with the mechanical connection of the original module structure, higher requirements are put forward for strength, flexibility, aging resistance, flame retardant insulation, and thermal conductivity.
The structural adhesives for power battery packs mainly include polyurethane structural adhesives, acrylic structural adhesives, epoxy structural adhesives, UV adhesives, and PUR hot melt adhesives. Choose suitable products and solutions according to different needs. Thermal conductive adhesive is specially designed and produced for the use of gaps to transfer heat. It can fill gaps, complete heat transfer between heating and cooling parts, and also serve insulation, shock absorption, sealing, and other functions. Mainly used to conduct heat between battery cells and between battery cells and liquid cooled pipes. Application forms include gaskets, potting, filling, etc. Thermal conductive adhesives for power battery packs mainly include thermal conductive silicon gel, thermal conductive encapsulating silica gel, polyurethane thermal conductive structural adhesive, etc. Suitable adhesive solutions are provided according to different use scenarios.

Nowadays, the development of new energy vehicles is mainly driven by batteries as the main energy supply. The power battery is equivalent to the engine of traditional fuel vehicles and is the "heart" of new energy vehicles. This type of CTP structure battery pack generally requires a large amount of adhesive to connect and fix the cells, making it almost impossible to use traditional mechanical connection methods. There are two main types of applications for these adhesives: structural adhesives, which are mainly used for structural bonding while considering certain thermal conductivity; The second is thermal conductive adhesive, which is mainly based on thermal conductivity and exports the heat generated by the battery cell to external heat dissipation components to achieve partial thermal management functions.
