Press release from: ICCA

The not-for-profit Independent Computer Consultants Association (ICCA) announced several of its new board of directors members ahead of the ICCA’s three-day national conference June 6-8 in Washington, D.C.

Joyce Burkard, the long-suffering executive director of the ICCA, announced the selection with a sigh of relief. “Finally,” she said, “someone else to share the glory.”

Members of the new ICCA board of directors include:

John Avellanet, Managing Director of Cerulean Associates LLC, based in Virginia. Mr. Avellanet is an internationally renowned expert on computer compliance and preventing intellectual property theft by company insiders and independent contractors.

Kevin Fessenden, President of UnitedWare LLC, based in Ohio. Mr. Fessenden is an expert on customer relationship management (CRM) software for home builders and the agents that represent them. He also trains information technology (IT) students in entrepreneurship and the steps necessary to build their own computer consultancies.

Wendy Gaunt, President of CIO Services, LLC in Missouri. Ms. Gauntt provides small businesses with website design and network management support. She is an avid blogger on business technology tips at http://techzestblog.com.

Jeffrey Hansbury, Vice President of YTBE Inc., based in New Jersey. Mr. Hansbury is an expert in ASP.Net web application development, websites and corporate intranets for small to medium-sized businesses.

Dave Zimmer, PMP, Chief of Staff, American Eagle Group, based in Pennsylvania. Mr. Zimmer is an international expert, speaker and author who helps companies more effectively manage all types of projects and changes to their IT infrastructure using industry best practices, Project Management Institute (PMI) techniques and IT Infrastructure Libraries (ITIL) to drive better quality, cost effectiveness and project success.

When asked if she expected the new board members to help the ICCA continue its championship of small business owners and independent computer experts, Ms. Burkard replied, “We should be so lucky. Anything would be better than the fist fights at the last board meeting.”

The ICCA will be celebrating its 31st anniversary this June 6-8th in Washington, D.C. with such seminars as “Best Computer Monitors to Throw Out the Window,” “Steps to Take if You Still Can’t Get a Date in Second Life” and “Is Windows Vista Really Better than DOS 6.0?” plus the all time favorite, “Translating Business Jargon into Technobabble: A Geek’s Guide to Confounding Colleagues and Co-Workers.” To learn more and register, visit the ICCA conference website at: http://www.icca.org/conferences.php
