Pietro Cascella and the Fuser Collection: A Meeting of Artistic Excellence

Pietro Cascella (1921-2008), the undisputed master of 20th-century Italian sculpture, was able to translate matter into symbolic and monumental form, becoming one of the most authoritative voices in contemporary art. His most celebrated works - from the Monument to the Martyrs of Auschwitz to the Peace Portal at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, as well as the large marble and travertine complexes scattered throughout Italy - bear witness to a consistent, rigorous, and deeply innovative research, capable of transforming figurative art into an essential and universal language.
