Schneider Electric Announces New AI Infrastructure Framework to Support Nigeria's Growing Digital Economy

Schneider Electric has announced a new framework to guide the development of AI ready digital infrastructure in Nigeria. The initiative is designed to help organizations build datacenters that can support rising computational demands, increased energy needs, and rapid capacity expansion as AI adoption grows across industries.

Ajibola Akindele, Country President, Schneider Electric, West Africa, emphasized the importance of this shift. The company noted that power, cooling, and energy management now play a strategic role in overall performance and deployment speed, with global investment in AI infrastructure expected to exceed 320 billion dollars in 2025. As part of this development, data centers are preparing for densities above 140 kilowatts per rack, prompting a move toward advanced liquid cooling and stronger control systems. Schneider Electric's framework incorporates AI optimized designs developed with partners such as NVIDIA, supporting high density computing, reducing cooling energy consumption, and stabilizing operations.

Given the energy realities in Nigeria, the framework places emphasis on efficient design, renewable integration, and smarter power management. These priorities aim to maintainuptime, reduce dependence on diesel generation, and align with national objectives for sustainability and digital readiness. Speaking on the potential impact for operators, Akindele added "Organizations in Nigeria are making important decisions about how they want to participate in the AI economy. Schneider Electric is also promoting modular and prefabricated data center designs that shorten deployment cycles. These models can reduce construction timelines from up to twoyears to about seven months, supporting rapid expansion for finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, and public services. The modular data center market is projected to grow from 29.9 billion dollars in 2024 to 79.5 billion dollars by 2030.
