CMM EXPO 2025 (Kazakhstan International Construction Machinery & Mining Machinery Exhibition 2025)
The CMM EXPO 2025 (Kazakhstan International Construction Machinery & Mining Machinery Exhibition 2025) will be held at the International Exhibition Center (IEC) of Astana Expo Center from August 20 to 22, 2025. The relevant news and background are as follows:Relevant News
On August 20, 2025, the CMM EXPO 2025 (Kazakhstan International Construction Machinery & Mining Machinery Exhibition 2025) grandly opened. Organized by the world-renowned exhibition institution GEMWAY Exhibition Group, the expo has attracted a large number of global giants in the construction machinery industry. International brands such as South Korea's Doosan and Hyundai, Russia's Kamaz, the UK's JCB, as well as Chinese industry leaders including Sany Heavy Industry and XCMG Group, all made their appearances. Covering the entire industrial chain, the expo focuses on displaying construction machinery, mining machinery, building materials machinery, commercial vehicles, etc. A number of newly launched products and intelligent, green solutions were released during the expo.
Expo Background
- Economic Development Demand: Kazakhstan's economy takes a leading position in Central Asia, accounting for 60% of the region's total gross domestic product (GDP). In recent years, the Kazakh government has continuously increased investment in infrastructure construction such as transportation and communications, while promoting the exploitation and processing of mineral resources and the modernization of agriculture. Urban expansion and real estate development are also accelerating, and the existing old equipment is in urgent need of upgrading, which has driven a huge demand for various construction machinery products.
- Policy Support: The expo has received great attention and strong support from authoritative government units and industry organizations such as the Kazakhstan Builders Association. The government actively promotes economic diversification, and its relevant policies provide a favorable development environment and market opportunities for construction machinery enterprises.
- The Belt and Road Opportunities: Kazakhstan is a key node country of the Belt and Road Initiative. The cooperation between China and Kazakhstan under the Belt and Road Initiative has been advanced in depth. China is Kazakhstan's largest trading partner. In 2024, China's exports of construction machinery products to Kazakhstan increased significantly. Taking advantage of this opportunity, many Chinese construction machinery enterprises have actively participated in Kazakhstan's infrastructure boom, laying a solid cooperation foundation for the holding of the expo.

Shortcoming: Insufficient Foot Traffic
A notable shortcoming of the CMM EXPO 2025 is its insufficient foot traffic.
The number of on-site visitors, including professional buyers, industry researchers, and potential clients, fell short of the expo's expected scale. This not only limited the frequency of face-to-face communication and business negotiations between exhibitors and target audiences but also reduced the exposure opportunities for newly launched products and intelligent green solutions.
Additionally, the lower foot traffic weakened the expo's role as a platform for industry information exchange and networking, failing to fully leverage its potential in promoting in-depth cooperation among global construction and mining machinery enterprises.

One of the most prominent programmes prepared by the government is the State Programme on Forced…
