Tipping Point for a Hollow Earth by Ruth Leedy Carr How Asimov and Sagan Backed My Prophecy of a Polar Hole Shift to Europe

Isaac Asimov was hailed as a hero in Ruth Leedy Carr's 1981 book Hollow Earth Mysteries and the Polar Shift. She credited him with hinting about a coming shift in polar openings that would bring civilization to its knees.

Was "Gift" written by Asimov in response to Carr's book? A series of anagram messages can be found in his stories from that period after April 1981 when the book was sent to him, after which it was republished by Saucerian Press.

"I got the gift. Thanx. I can't thanc thee enogh." This is from "Catching the Fox" in The Union Club Mysteries. Also from this book, in "Getting the Combination" we can find:

"I am hinting that I got the booc. I thanc thee." From "The Library Book" this can be found:

"I like yoor hollo Earth book, Rooth. Yoo are brite." An alternate message would be: "I like yoor book that bakketh the hollo Earth theory, Rooth." In "Can You Prove It?" from Banquets of the Black Widowers the message may be:

"You've proven it, R.A.C." Likewise, in "Hot of Cold" we easily find: "Rooth C. told trooth," and in "The Intrusion" we can see: "Ruth insists on the truth." In "Eustace Bartholomew Wasservogel" from "Can You Prove It?" there is this:

"Ruth C. gave me her booc where she shows the Earth to be hollow." Likewise, in "Simon Brooke, Lucas J. Atterbury" from "Hot or Cold" we find a message for Ruth using a previous married name:

"R.A. Callinan, you just sent me your book about cataclysmic secrecy." One could add: "You are correct." A later message reflects a name change. In "There Was a Young Lady" we find: "Ruth Anne Leedy, you say there are three hollow worlds. Eye agree." From "Gift," in the name of "Rudolf Schwemmer" the message appears to be:

"Few of us could redeem our doomed hollow world. U could do so, R.C." Likewise, in "Twelve Years Old" there is this:

"Let's say we try to save a world, R.A." In "Morris Quintus Yeats" from "Gift" there is this advice:

"Your mission is risqui, may require many years, R.A. Yet you must not quit." In "The Phoenician Bauble" a message about the telephone can be found:

"U cent a nice booc about hollo planets, Callinan. I can't call U on the telephone to thanc U." In Puzzles of the Black Widowers there appears to be a message about Carr's 1985 book Hollow Earth Apocalypse: Asimov's Warning. In "Chester Dunhill, Ludovic Broadbottom" from "Sunset on the Water" we can find:

"I, Isaac Asimov, received ur latest booc, Ruth Anne Leedi. U understand about a cataclism on a hollo Earth. Thanc U." His essay "The Hollow Earth" in Past, Present and Future was inspired by this book and contains many possible SOS signs. In "Charles Soskind" from "A Monday in April" an SOS can be found, as follows: "SOS! Chaos lies ahead as a noo aksis nears." Likewise, in "the Sossafer Chasids" from Carl Sagan's novel Contact, we can find:

"SOS! The Earth's acsis is do to shift." One could add: "Chaos is ahead." Both "Earth axis shift" and "field reversal" can be found in "Stefan Alexeivich Baruda" from Sagan's novel.

A geomagnetic field reversal, which is well known to be a catastrophe, has been approaching for 2500 years. This is profusely illustrated by Jeremy Bloxam and David Gubbins in "The Evolution of the Earth's Magnetic Field," Scientific American, December 1989. A new hot spot, they say, could emerge at any time near Indonesia and trigger this event which would relocate the north and south magnetic poles, providing new target points for the powerful solar wind. An ancient reversal of Earth's field resulted in a dramatic axis change, as reported by CBS on January 20, 2000.

Carr's newest book Tipping Point for a Hollow Earth is longer than her other recent book Polar Hole Light in Europe's Clouds. There are larger photos of Mars taken on August 4, 1969, showing polar light on the night side which must emanate from an interior sun around which the planetary shell is in orbit.

About the Author: Ruth Leedy Carr attended Indiana University, where she majored in journalism and psychology, and covered stories in many scientific fields. She has written eight books on polar hole shifting, of which two Floria Benton books were republished by Saucerian Press. She was proclaimed by UFO researcher William L. Moore to be the world's foremost proponent of the hollow Earth theory.
