Luxury kitchen design from Madrid reaches the north: Mokara Estudio expands to Cantabria with coastal-adapted projects.

Santander/Madrid (Spain), 20 November 2025

Mokara Estudio, the Madrid-based interior design and renovation studio, is quietly transforming kitchens across Cantabria, introducing the capital's most sought-after contemporary trends to the Cantabrian coast.

Over the past year, the studio has completed a growing number of kitchen projects in Santander, Torrelavega, Bezana, Camargo and Los Corrales de Buelna. Homeowners in the region are increasingly requesting the open-plan, minimalist designs that have become a hallmark of Mokara Estudio in Madrid: large central islands, handle-less cabinetry, integrated appliances and a seamless flow between cooking, dining and living areas.

What sets these Cantabrian kitchens apart is the careful adaptation to the local climate. "The humidity and salt air of the coast demand specific solutions," explain the founders of Mokara Estudio. "We are using ventilated Neolith and Dekton surfaces, moisture-resistant lacquered finishes and high-performance extraction systems that far exceed standard specifications. The result is a kitchen that looks spectacular on day one and stays that way for decades."

A key advantage for Cantabrian clients is the studio's direct-from-factory custom cabinetry. Every kitchen is designed and manufactured to measure in Spain, allowing total freedom in dimensions, finishes and internal organisation, without the premium normally associated with fully bespoke furniture. Clients can choose everything from the exact height of the worktop to the soft-close mechanisms and internal drawer dividers.

To make the projects more accessible, Mokara Estudio has introduced flexible financing options of up to €20,000 with terms of up to 35 months and no arrangement fees, in partnership with specialised entities. "Many families want the quality they see in magazines, but need to spread the investment over time. Our financing plans make that possible without compromising on materials or design," the studio adds. This has proven especially popular with young families and second-home owners who want a high-end result without the immediate full outlay.

The expansion into Cantabria has been driven largely by word-of-mouth from Madrid clients who own second homes in the region and want the same team that renovated their primary residence. "We started with one or two jobs a year," they say, "and now we're getting calls from people who have never even been our clients in Madrid - they've just seen the finished kitchens and want the same." The studio now travels regularly to the north and offers full project management from initial survey to final handover, including all licences and coordination with local suppliers.
