These 5 CRA benefit payments [https://immigrationnewscanada.ca/new-cra-benefit-payments-october-2025/] - the GST/HST Credit, Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB), Canada Child Benefit (CCB), Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB), and Canada Pension Plan (CPP) with Old Age Security (OAS) - are proving to be vital supports for families, workers, and seniors.
Adding to this list, the new Canada Disability Benefit officially launched in January 2025, marking a milestone for low-income Canadians with disabilities.
GST/HST Credit Increase
The GST/HST Credit, a tax-free quarterly payment, rose by 2.7% in January 2025. Eligible singles now receive up to $533 annually, while couples can collect up to $698, plus $184 per child under 19.
Eligibility is based on adjusted family net income (AFNI), marital status, and dependents, with temporary residents and newcomers qualifying under specific conditions. Payments are automatic for those who filed a 2024 tax return.
Upcoming GST/HST Credit payment dates:
* October 3, 2025
* January 5, 2026
* April 3, 2026
Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB)
The ACWB delivers up to half of the annual Canada Workers Benefit in advance, helping low-income workers manage cash flow. With January's increase, maximum benefits are now $1,428 for singles and $2,461 for families, with higher amounts for those eligible for the disability supplement.
Advance payments are issued three times a year, with the next dates confirmed as:
* October 10, 2025
* January 9, 2026
Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
Families raising children under 18 saw their CCB increase by 2.7% in January 2025. The maximum yearly payment is now $7,997 per child under six and $6,748 per child aged 6-17.
For example, a family with two children could receive up to $14,745 annually if their income is below the phase-out threshold. Payments continue monthly, with the next set for October 20, 2025.
Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB)
Ontario households also benefit from the inflation-adjusted Ontario Trillium Benefit (OTB), which combines three credits: sales tax, energy/property tax, and the Northern Ontario Energy Credit.
For 2025, maximum annual payments are:
* $371 per person for the Ontario Sales Tax Credit
* Up to $1,459 for seniors under the Energy and Property Tax Credit
* Up to $284 for families in Northern Ontario
OTB payments continue monthly, with the next on October 10, 2025.
CPP and OAS Increases
Seniors saw a 2.7% boost to CPP and OAS payments starting in January 2025. The maximum monthly CPP retirement payment at age 65 is now $1,433, with the average at around $900.
OAS payments rose to $727.67 monthly for ages 65-74 and $800.44 for ages 75+, with low-income seniors eligible for up to $1,086.88 monthly through the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS).
The next CPP and OAS payment date is September 26, 2025.
Looking Ahead
With increases across five key CRA benefit programs and the launch of the Canada Disability Benefit, millions of Canadians are receiving additional support in 2025.
Filing taxes on time, keeping CRA My Account details current, and setting up direct deposit remain the best ways to ensure payments arrive without delay.
