"Stylish Taipei" unveils Asia's next wave in MICE and bleisure travel
Las Vegas, USA - 10 October, 2025 - Taipei made a dazzling impression at IMEX America 2025 under the theme "Stylish Taipei", establishing itself as Asia's premier destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). With new direct flights to the United States driving a 16% surge in business travel in 2024, Taipei is fast emerging as a key hub for East-West business and cultural exchange.

At this year's show, the Taipei City Government's Department of Information and Tourism (DOIT), together with the Tourism Administration and partners from Taipei's MICE industry, hotels, and airlines, showcased the city's unique strengths-cultural depth, innovative spirit, and seamless global connectivity. Their joint effort underlined Taipei's ambition to be a highly competitive and compelling destination for international events.

IMEX America is the world's leading trade show for MICE and incentive travel, drawing 5,758 professional buyers and participants from 75 countries. Nearly 90% of attendees were from North America, making it the perfect stage for Taipei's long-term market strategy.

"Taipei is a modern metropolis that is safe, convenient, and steeped in culture, while also driving sustainability and innovation," said a DOIT representative. "We see growing enthusiasm among North American buyers for cultural experiences and green travel. Taipei perfectly combines international standards with local character, making it an ideal gateway for global meetings, exhibitions, and incentive programs."

Creativity and Interaction Put Taipei in the Spotlight

At this year's show, Taipei delighted attendees with a retro-style pinball game paired with Taiwanese snacks, creating a nostalgic yet playful vibe that gave international buyers a taste of Taipei's warmth and hospitality. On 8 October, a dedicated Happy Hour session offered buyers a relaxed networking environment with drinks and nibbles, complete with an exclusive Taipei Tourism Gift Pack featuring complimentary accommodation and attraction passes - bringing buyers closer to the city and inviting them to experience Taipei in person.

One lucky winner said:

"Taipei has always been my dream destination. This glimpse of its vibrant culture makes me want to share the experience with clients around the world."

Taipei as Asia's New MICE and Bleisure Landmark

Over the three-day event, Taipei delivered five presentations for high-potential buyers and held more than 100 one-on-one meetings, highlighting the city's distinctive appeal where nature meets the city, and tradition coexists with modernity. Each business trip, Taipei emphasised, can easily extend into an unforgettable cultural journey.

Where Business Meets Leisure

Through its presence at IMEX America 2025, Taipei reaffirmed its status as one of Asia's most compelling destinations for both MICE and bleisure travel. From Yangmingshan's scenic trails and the Xinyi shopping district, to Michelin-starred dining and vibrant night markets, Taipei offers business travellers opportunities to extend their stay, boosting both satisfaction and economic benefits.

Taipei continues to inspire fresh ideas, create lasting memories, and shine as a gateway where business and culture meet.
