01-25-2017 10:15 AM CET | Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance

Press release from: INFOMEDIA

INFOMEDIA today announces the launch of its industry-leading micro-payments platform on all three Egyptian mobile networks, Etisalat, Orange and Vodafone. Through one simple integration, digital merchants are now able to monetise on mobile with over 92 million mobile subscribers, via INFOMEDIA's frictionless payment experience.

This latest roll out capitalises on the fast-growing mobile subscriber base, alongside the region’s high proportion of unbanked citizens (estimated at 65% according to MasterCard), where payment mechanisms such as Credit Card are simply not an option. With the convenience and security of Carrier Billing, customers will now be able to discover, pay and consume their favourite digital content via a truly mobile-first experience.

“We’re absolutely delighted to launch our micro-payments platform on all three operators in Egypt. We are committed to delivering compelling digital services to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and, with these launches we are now able to offer frictionless billing to over 120m customers for our partners.” commented Michael Tomlins, CEO. “The ever-evolving mobile landscape and low saturation of credit cards offers a wealth of opportunities for digital brands using carrier billing and we’re excited to enhance the digital offering available to consumers."

INFOMEDIA has witnessed remarkable growth within MENA region and today have carrier billing connections in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and now Egypt, with further connections planned in H1 2017.
