Our borehole in Zeerust has been dry for three years. Through our BackaBuddy campaign "Water is Life - Help Us Grow Again," we hop

Zeerust, South Africa - September 2025 - After more than three years without access to a reliable water source, the Scheepers family in Zeerust, North West, South Africa, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy titled "Water is Life - Help Us Grow Again."

Our only borehole, once essential for household use and small-scale farming, has run completely dry. Without water, we struggle every day to grow crops, feed livestock, and meet even our most basic needs. Without intervention, our land continues to deteriorate, and survival is an ongoing challenge.

Through Water is Life - Help Us Grow Again, we aim to raise funds to drill a new borehole and initiate the planting of lucerne (alfalfa). With water restored, we can bring our land back to life, grow food, care for our animals, and create a path toward long-term sustainability and self-reliance.

"This borehole will not only provide water, but it will also give us hope to rebuild our lives with dignity. "Even the smallest donation helps bring us closer to water security and a future where we can grow again."

Our campaign is open to contributions from around the world. Supporters can help by donating directly or by sharing the campaign link to spread awareness.
