Multi-Award-Winning UK Charity Digit Celebrated for Transforming Education and Tackling Climate Challenges.

Since its formation in 2022, UK Charity Digit has reached over 600,000 young people across 59 countries despite being a core team of two supported by freelancers and volunteers. The charity equips underserved learners with vital digital skills whilst fostering climate action and wellbeing.
This work has been recognised with four prestigious awards, highlighting Digit's leadership and impact:

Charity Chair of the Year awarded to Derek Peaple at the Charity Times Awards, West Berkshire Charity of the Year (NWN)
Bronze for Educational Excellence at the Global Good Awards,
Since its formation in 2022, Digit's influence has grown nationally and internationally, reaching nearly 600,000 young people across 59 countries and equipping underserved learners with vital digital skills while fostering climate action and wellbeing.

Through its partnership with Amazon Future Engineer, Digit delivers Coding for Climate Action, a free six-week curriculum in which pupils aged 7-14 use coding to address real-world environmental challenges. Between June 2024 and May 2025 alone, the programme trained over 1,500 teachers and reached more than 95,000 students across the UK.

Alongside Coding for Climate Action, programmes such as EcoCode empower young people to design and build practical tech solutions, from flood warning systems to solar-powered irrigation. These awards recognise the charity's ability to combine innovation with tangible outcomes in education and climate action.

We're on a mission to equip young people in schools and their local community with the digital skills and leadership needed to succeed in existing & future digital roles, whilst developing their digital well-being and leadership through active learning contextualised through climate and sustainability. Our goal is to enable them to excel in both current and future digital careers while equipping them with the technical and personal attributes necessary to address the ever-changing needs of our local and global communities. We inspire young people to become confident, discerning users and developers of technology and enable them to unleash their potential through an understanding of AI, coding, data science, cyber security, engineering and internet safety. We use our vast experience of increasing the engagement and self-efficacy of girls in computer science and digital experiences to assist the development of future diverse digital leaders and change makers with an active digital lifestyle. We will achieve this through the development of contextual learning resources for young people and the professional development of teachers and youth leaders to disseminate our mission and extend our experiences for the digital ambassadors of tomorrow.
