Liquid glass coatings - an underestimated market with great growth potential

Overath, September 27, 2025 - Liquid glass coatings are among the most advanced surface technologies of our time. They are still largely unknown in many industries - yet they have enormous potential to make products more durable, easier to clean and more sustainable.

Technology & innovation: What's behind it?
The liquid glass technology developed and produced by CCM is based on nanoscale silicon dioxide (SiO?) structures that form an extremely thin, invisible protective layer on surfaces. These coatings adhere to materials such as glass, ceramics, metal, plastic and painted surfaces without changing their appearance. They increase scratch resistance, improve corrosion protection, make surfaces easier to clean and extend their service life - with minimal use of materials.

One particularly important aspect of innovation is the consistent focus on PFAS-free solutions. As many as 26 of CCM's 41 liquid glass coatings are completely PFAS-free, while the remaining products are PFOS- and PFOA-free. A special feature is the development of PFAS-free coatings that still offer excellent oil-repellent properties - a rarity on the market. CCM is thus setting new standards in the combination of sustainability, performance and regulatory compliance.
