In Different Us!, four friends Maliyah, Jacob, Sarah, and Samson face the challenges of teasing and bullying during their final year at St. Mary's Primary School. Labeled "the odd squad" by classmates, each child struggles with insecurities, from Maliyah's difficulty embracing her biracial identity to Jacob's battle with being accepted despite his skinny frame, braces, and thick glasses. Together, they discover that true friendship and faith in a higher power can transform what makes them "different" into their greatest strength.
The sequel, Different Us! Jr. High School, follows the same group of friends as they transition into the daunting world of junior high. With a pact to stay united and lean on their faith, Maliyah, Jacob, Sarah, and Samson learn to face fears head-on. From navigating body image struggles to confronting stereotypes, they find that their differences are not weaknesses but stepping-stones to confidence and resilience.

Dr. Katryna King Evans [https://www.drkingevans.com/] is a multitalented author, certified Life Coach, and motivational speaker whose life's work is dedicated to spreading hope and encouragement.
