On Monday, the victim-wearing a traditional Islamic veil-was shot at multiple times while leaving a shopping center on the 500 block of Richie Road. She was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. According to local authorities, the case is under investigation; the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has urged that religious attire may have been the motive and called for a thorough probe into possible bias or hate-motivated violence.
