India Federation for Investors & Global Traders (IFIGT) Discusses with the Embassy of Burundi to Strengthen Trade & Investment Cooperation

New Delhi, 15th September 2025 | 1500 hrs

The leadership of the India Federation for Investors & Global Traders (IFIGT) met with H.E. Mr. Aloys Bizindavyi, the Ambassador of Burundi to India at the Embassy of Burundi, New Delhi, to deliberate on advancing bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

The discussions centred on key sectors of strategic importance to Burundi, including:

• Agriculture - enhancing productivity and market linkages
• Pharmaceuticals & Medicine - expanding healthcare collaborations
• Renewable Energy - particularly solar and wind projects
• Mining & Natural Resources - promoting responsible investment and partnerships.

Both sides explored avenues where IFIGT could facilitate corporate partnerships, investment linkages, and institutional collaborations, leveraging its growing network of sectoral councils, state chapters, and global desks.

Alignment with IFIGT's Mission & Vision

This engagement is in line with IFIGT's mission to enable global trade and investments and strengthen international cooperation by building structured platforms for dialogue and partnership.

In recognition of this collaboration, the initiative is being placed under the framework of: "Observer - International Trade & Investments: Burundi."
Through this Observer Desk, IFIGT will act as a facilitative bridge to:

• Encourage Indian investors and enterprises to explore opportunities in Burundi.
• Support Burundi's economic development priorities through knowledge sharing and capacity building.
• Strengthen South-South cooperation by connecting African opportunities with Indian expertise.

Leadership Remarks:

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Aloys Bizindavyi, Ambassador of Burundi to India, stressed the need for such high-value-added and focused initiatives that would act as a bridge for enabling cross-border trade & investments.

Rtn. Rohini Raina, Director General of IFIGT, emphasised the Federation's commitment to "building global partnerships that are inclusive, impactful, and development-driven."

Mr. Rajat Dhar, Director - Investments at IFIGT, added that "Burundi's focus on agriculture, renewable energy, and mining resonates with India's strengths, creating avenues for sustainable and mutually beneficial collaborations."
