2025 China (Jiangsu) - Germany (Berlin) Tourism Industry Promotion Conference to Kick Off, Jointly Paving a New Chapter for Cultural and Tourism Exchange

To further implement the consensus reached by the leaders of China and Germany on enhancing people-to-people exchanges and practical cooperation, and to advance the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, the 2025 China (Jiangsu) - Germany (Berlin) Tourism Industry Promotion Conference, hosted by the Jiangsu Tourism (Germany) Promotion Center, will be held in Berlin, Germany on the afternoon of Thursday, September 18, 2025. Local German travel agencies, cultural and tourism institutions, and media representatives will attend the event.

As an important platform for dialogue between Eastern and Western civilizations, China and Germany have always maintained in-depth interactions in the field of culture and tourism. Among them, Jiangsu and Berlin are highly representative "cultural and tourism cards". Jiangsu embodies a unique Eastern aesthetic through its brand "Jiangsu: The Rhythm of Water" - the Grand Canal runs through the region, connecting the changing scenery at every step of Suzhou Gardens, the mist-shrouded vastness of Yangzhou Slender West Lake, and the Nanjing Ming City Wall that tells the story of a thousand years of history. Since 2025, Jiangsu's inbound tourism market has been booming. Statistics show that in the first quarter, scenic spots of AAAA level and above under monitoring received 756,500 inbound tourists. From January to August, the number of inbound overnight tourists from Germany to Jiangsu reached 41,572, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.5%. Meanwhile, 530 German enterprises have gathered in Taicang alone, laying a solid public foundation for cultural and tourism exchanges. Berlin, on the other hand, showcases its diverse charm as a cultural hub in Europe. In 2025, it is expected to receive nearly 14 million tourists, among which Museum Island maintains a stable annual reception of 3 million visitors. Attractions such as the Brandenburg Gate and Tiergarten Park, along with its mature tourism service system, jointly serve as an important window for cultural exchange. Although Jiangsu and Berlin have different cultural backgrounds, their willingness to "take culture and tourism as a bridge" for exchange is highly aligned. From tourist mutual visits to industry exchanges, a sound pattern of mutual complementarity and win-win cooperation has gradually taken shape.

This Promotion Conference focuses on pragmatic exchanges and connections between the two industries, builds a new bridge for tourism cooperation, and presents a picture of Jiangsu's cultural and tourism landscape featuring the integration of tradition and modernity, and the coexistence of nature and humanity for the cooperation between the two sides.
The core sessions of the Conference will systematically showcase the multi-dimensional value system of Jiangsu's cultural and tourism resources, as well as core advantages such as the provincial and municipal cultural and tourism incentive policies and inbound tourism policies. The release of tourism routes tailored to the needs of the German market will be a highlight of this event. By integrating the travel preferences of German tourists, themed routes suitable for the local market will be launched. These routes will connect high-quality ecological tourism resources in Jiangsu and incorporate immersive cultural experience programs, meeting the core needs of German tourists for travel environment and cultural participation. In addition, the event specifically includes a speech session by representatives of German travel agencies, building a dialogue platform for exchanges between the two industries. After the Conference, a cooperation and exchange session will be set up on-site, where designated personnel will answer questions from travel agencies regarding Jiangsu tourism and help connect and implement cooperation intentions.
