Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine Announces New Rules

ORLANDO, FL - The Florida Board of Chiropractic Medicine has announced it will hold a special meeting on September 28, 2025, to draft new rules governing continuing education providers following a petition filed by the Florida Chiropractic Coalition [https://www.floridachiropracticcoalition.com/] (FCC).

The new rules will establish an incident reporting system and grant the Board explicit authority to investigate, suspend, or deny providers and instructors who fail to meet professional standards. This action addresses the current absence of a formal process for reporting and acting on misconduct or course deficiencies from continuing education providers.

Key Regulatory Changes

The proposed rule changes include:

* Creation of a formal incident reporting system for continuing education providers
* Enhanced Board authority to investigate provider misconduct
* Ability to suspend or deny certification for substandard providers and instructors
* Strengthened accountability measures for educational content quality

"Ensuring the integrity of continuing education is fundamental to public safety and professional competency," said Albert "Rick" Warner, D.C., Executive Director of the Florida Chiropractic Coalition. "This future rule will provide the necessary tools to uphold high educational standards for all Florida-licensed chiropractors, directly benefiting the patients they serve."

Technology Integration Support

In a separate matter, the Board expressed strong support for the use of artificial intelligence and smart technology within the chiropractic profession, provided they comply with current Florida laws and statutes. While declining to issue a formal declaratory statement, the Board reinforced that licensed doctors remain fully responsible for all patient care, regardless of technological tools employed.

The Board's position allows Florida chiropractors to integrate modern diagnostic and patient care technologies while maintaining professional accountability standards.

Impact on Healthcare Standards

This regulatory action represents a significant step in maintaining educational quality within Florida's chiropractic profession. The new rules are expected to enhance patient safety by ensuring continuing education providers meet rigorous professional standards.

The Florida Chiropractic Coalition is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the chiropractic profession in Florida through advocacy, education, and promotion of high patient care standards.
