Inner Calm Clinical Psychology Welcomes Dr Johanna Meyer as Principal Psychologist

Inner Calm Clinical Psychology is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Johanna Meyer as Principal Psychologist, commencing this month.

Dr Meyer brings extensive clinical experience, leadership skills, and academic achievement to the role, having previously served as Principal Clinical Psychologist at Ramsay Psychology Wollongong, Clinical Lead at Headspace Wollongong, and Senior Clinical Supervisor (Psychology) at headspace National. She will work closely with clinicians to strengthen clinical governance, support professional development, and guide the practice's future strategic direction.

Her clinical passions include working with anxiety-related issues, OCD-related presentations, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, with a special focus on gender-affirming therapy. She provides evidence-based interventions including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT, including exposure therapy), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) as required.

Academically, Dr Meyer holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wollongong, a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Wyoming (USA), and dual Bachelor degrees in Psychology and German from the University of Florida (USA), both with honours. She has authored more than a dozen publications, presented at international conferences, and received numerous academic honours including the APS College of Clinical Psychologists Student Prize.

Dr Meyer will be available to see clients at Inner Calm Clinical Psychology on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
