City of Duluth Declares August 21, 2025 "Planned PEThood of Georgia Day"

DULUTH, GA - August 27, 2025 - Mayor Greg Whitlock delivered and read in person a proclamation officially declaring August 21, 2025, as Planned PEThood of Georgia Day in the City of Duluth, recognizing the nonprofit's 15 years of lifesaving work.

Since its founding in 2010, Planned PEThood of Georgia, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Duluth, has provided affordable veterinary care, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and treatment for minor health issues, helping thousands of pets stay healthy with the families who love them. T

he organization's efforts to reduce pet overpopulation have eased the burden on local shelters, improved public health, and contributed to a safer, more compassionate community.

In addition to veterinary services, Planned PEThood offers outreach programs, humane education, and rescue and adoption services, positively impacting countless families across Duluth and Gwinnett County. The proclamation honors the organization's critical role in strengthening bonds between pets and people and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
