Taking Responsibility When No One Else Will

Her most intense work took her to Bulgaria, to a place where more than 150 farm animals had been abandoned. The village, originally a self-sufficiency project, collapsed under human indifference. When the sponsor could no longer provide support, people left - and suddenly, she was alone. Alone with animals who desperately needed help.

Where others would have given up, she fought. She sold everything possible - belongings, materials, old machines, and equipment - piece by piece. Ultimately, she even found homes for the animals themselves, not to ease her own burden, but to ensure their safety. Each step was a sacrifice, yet also a profound act of love.

As if that weren't enough, more and more stray animals found their way to the village. In just a year and a half, she cared for 25 dogs - many found loving homes, and some remain by her side to this day. Against all odds, despite all difficulties.

Leaving Bulgaria and searching for a new home - for herself and the animals - was a challenge that demanded almost superhuman strength. And yet, for her, one thing is clear: it was worth it. Every effort, every sleepless night, every struggle.
