Colombia Showcases its Strong Video Game Offer at Gamescom 2025 in Germany
For the eighth consecutive year, the Latin American country will take part in this major trade fair for the video game sector, held from 20 to 24 August in Cologne (Germany), to showcase the very best of its industry with a mission of eight exporters supported by ProColombia, the Government entity that promotes investment, exports, tourism, and the country brand.The companies attending Gamescom are: Indie Level Studio, Tamarillo Games, Dead Monkey S.A.S, Maleiwa Studio S.A.S, Datolabs S.A.S, TIMBA S.A.S, BACON GROUP S.A.S, and BLAZING SOFT S.A.S. (Attached dossier).
Carmen Caballero, President of ProColombia, highlighted the importance of this event: "Gamescom is essential to raise awareness of Colombia's video game industry among key players, build commercial connections, and engage with the leading companies that make up the global gaming industry. Visitors will see that Colombia's proposition is robust and has been strengthening for decades."
In this edition, Colombian companies will also have the opportunity to use the Meet to Match platform, a strategic space for engaging with potential international clients and partners.
The Video Game Industry in Colombia Currently, more than 30 studios develop and export video games from Colombia, positioning the country as a regional benchmark. The Colombian video game industry is made up of around 80 companies, mainly concentrated in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali.
Colombia has one of the most structured audiovisual production policies in Latin America. This policy now extends to outsourced video game services in the country, offering a tax rebate equivalent to 35% of expenses incurred by foreign video game projects in audiovisual services and logistical services (such as accommodation, catering, and transport) contracted with Colombian individuals or companies.
In total, 126 productions from 10 countries have benefited from this 35% transferable tax credit, which has attracted 49 production companies and over 638 million US dollars in investment to Colombia.
