The New EU Lamps Standard Enforced, with Comprehensive Upgrades in Technical Requirements
* Adjustments to technical details: The voltage for withstand voltage testing has been reduced from 2000V in the original standard to 1500V, which strengthens the requirements for the electrical safety of lamps. The material standards have been uniformly adjusted from IEC 60227 and IEC 60245 to the EN 50525 series, clarifying the applicable specifications for materials other than polyvinyl chloride and rubber.
* Newly added testing requirements: The chapters on durability tests and thermal tests have introduced the European installation standards (HD60364 series) and cable standards (EN50525 series). Additionally, Annex ZB (specific national conditions) and Annex ZC (A-deviations) have been added, requiring manufacturers to adjust product designs according to the markets of different countries.

* Impact on certification validity: All certificates based on the old version of the standard have become invalid. Export enterprises must complete the certification update before February 16, 2025; otherwise, they will face restrictions on market access to the EU. For example, Chinese manufacturers need to resubmit their products for testing to ensure compliance with the new requirements for mechanical structure, electromagnetic compatibility, and photobiological safety.
