Shaleena Gaskin

BOSTON, MA - Bottom Line is delighted to announce the promotion of Shaleena Gaskin to executive director of its Massachusetts region. Gaskin previously served as the region's managing director of programs.

"From day one, Shaleena exhibited exceptional leadership and deep ties to our mission. Holistic support for students on their path to success takes all of us, and we've been beyond impressed with the community-based partnerships she's been able to foster," said Alissa Silverman, chief regional officer of Bottom Line. "She will undoubtedly continue this momentum in her new role."

Shaleena Gaskin is a first-generation college graduate and mission-driven education leader who brings over 19 years of experience advancing postsecondary access, career readiness, and systems-level change across the nonprofit and K-12 sectors. She has served in leadership roles in public school systems and college access organizations, where she built pathways to postsecondary success through dual enrollment, work-based learning, and alumni support programming. She is recognized for her ability to build strategic partnerships, secure investment for long-term impact, and translate policy into actionable change.

Gaskin assumes the role as Bottom Line applauds outgoing Massachusetts Executive Director Ginette Saimprevil for over 18 years of dedicated service. As the organization's most tenured employee and a Bottom Line alumna herself, Saimprevil empowered Gaskin to lead high-impact, student-centered programming strategies. Now, Gaskin is poised to uphold the reputation Saimprevil helped build.

The headquarters and founding office created a replicable blueprint for partnering with students from first-generation and low-income backgrounds as they aspire to affordably attain bachelor's degrees and launch careers that alter the socioeconomic outlook of their families for generations. For over 25 years, Bottom Line Massachusetts has provided multiyear, personalized advising to over 12,380 students, making its college Access and Success programs staples across Boston and Worcester's most under-resourced neighborhoods. Gaskin hopes to deepen the strong community roots that Bottom Line is known for.

"This is a pivotal and energizing transition for me and the organization as we are intentionally focusing on more direct and synchronized collaboration with other student-serving nonprofits, school districts, and higher education institutions. All Bostonians have a stake in the advancement and prosperity of our students; and it's clear that we can do more when we do it together," Gaskin expressed.

Organizations interested in partnering with Bottom Line Massachusetts or learning more about its programs can contact Shaleena Gaskin at sgaskin@bottomline.org.
