After heating to 65 degrees to 70 degrees, the material can be molded easily to any shape, and regains its rigidity and stability once it cools down to room temperature. DePuy Synthes manufactured Synpor implant is made of nonabsorbable polyethylene porous material which supports tissue growth, and helps in rapid stabilization of fracture. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a widely used material for manufacturing CMF implants. The material is autoclavable, lightweight and displays strength and rigidity similar to bone. Titanium has ultra-high strength, and show excellent biocompatibility, as against stainless steel, titanium implants which do not induce allergic reactions in patients.

Road accidents have been a major cause of traumatic injuries globally. According to Department of Transport, Great Britain, nearly 25,000 individuals were killed or seriously injured in 2015; while Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. (CDC) records around 35,000 deaths motor vehicle deaths annually. Europe too recorded more than 26,000 cases of serious road accidents in year 2015. Asia however records highest number of road accidents globally. Studies conducted by World Health Organization (WHO) mention that 0.3 million deaths were caused due to road accidents in South East Asian Countries, which is 25% of the global road accident mortalities. However the market is largely concentrated in the western countries due to lack of education among doctors.
