Thailand's EEC Office and BCIB Partner to Boost Investment in Eastern Economic Corridor
Bangkok, Thailand - July 8, 2025 - The Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) and Bastion Commonwealth Investment Bank (BCIB) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote cross-border investment and unlock new economic opportunities in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC)-Thailand's flagship economic development zone. The MOU was officially signed by Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary General of EECO, and Dr. Chutamas Vongvorakit, Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of BCIB, in a ceremony held in Bangkok on 30 June 2025.
This strategic partnership outlines a multi-faceted collaboration to attract high-value investments, facilitate investor engagement, and connect international capital with Thailand's priority sectors, including advanced manufacturing, digital industries, logistics, healthcare, and education.
"Our partnership with BCIB marks a significant step in strengthening Thailand's position as a regional investment hub," said Mr. Chula Sukmanop. "By leveraging BCIB's international network and expertise in cross-border finance, we aim to accelerate the inflow of strategic investments into the EEC."
Under the agreement, EECO and BCIB will jointly pursue the following areas of cooperation:
- Investor Referrals - Facilitate introductions between qualified investors and EEC-focused opportunities.
- Investment Facilitation - Support project financing in line with BCIB's institutional risk and compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge Sharing - Conduct investor briefings, seminars, and outreach programs showcasing EEC growth potential.
- Business Matching - Connect international investors with high-impact Thai enterprises within the EEC.
- Promotional Support - Promote Thailand's investment incentives and regulatory updates through BCIB's global channels.
"This MOU reflects BCIB's commitment to enabling sustainable economic transformation in Southeast Asia," noted Dr. Chutamas Vongvorakit. "The EEC is a prime destination for institutional capital seeking resilient, long-term returns, and we are proud to be a conduit for this growth."
The MOU is effective immediately and will remain valid for a period of three years, with provisions for renewal upon mutual agreement. While non-binding in nature, the agreement establishes a solid platform for both parties to collaborate actively and transparently.
