Celebrating the Magic of Community and Storytelling in The Six Bells of Ruskington Village
Image: https://www.globalnewslines.com/uploads/2025/07/1751476482.jpgReading short stories with young ones, is not it one of the best moments to cherish joy?
If you wish to create more moments by reading short stories with your little ones, then you need to get your hands on this children's book, "The Six Bells of Ruskington Village", by Debra Wadsley.
It is a delightful short story collection by Debra Wadsley that invites readers into a whimsical world where bells have personalities, friendships blossom, and adventure awaits at every chime. Chosen from the creative minds of young writers from Winchelsea and Chestnut Street primary schools and handpicked by acclaimed children's author Joyce Dunbar, this collection is more than just a book-it is a celebration of imagination, community, and heritage.
The book follows the adventures of six unique bells-Bessie, Belle, Boo, Billy, Bob, and Benny-each with their own personality and quirks. From daring rescues and unexpected friendships to mysterious kidnappings and laugh-out-loud pranks, these stories highlight the power of teamwork, courage, and self-discovery. The charming tales also serve as a tribute to the historical Ruskington All Saints Church and its bell tower, emphasizing the importance of preserving local heritage.
"The Six Bells of Ruskington Village" isn't just an engaging children's book-it's a community-driven initiative that supports literacy, creativity, and local charities. With its roots deeply embedded in storytelling and tradition, the book is a heartwarming reminder of the magic that can be found in everyday places.
About the Author
The stories for the book were written by children at the Winchelsea and Chestnut Street Primary Schools in Ruskington. Over 100 stories were created, then 20 were hand-selected by the children's author, Joyce Dunbar. Russell Turner is the talented graphic artist who drew all the illustrations; and Debra Wadsley had the original idea for the bell characters as part of a campaign to raise funds to restore the six bells in the bell tower of All Saints' church, Ruskington in Lincolnshire.

In 2026, American parents' approach to choosing children's clothing is undergoing a quiet transformation. Instead of focusing on outfits for specific festive occasions to create a sense of ritual, they are now embracing real-life daily scenarios. As temperatures gradually warm, spring and summer styling has become a focus in men's daily dressing. Compared to autumn and winter, spring and summer clothing is lighter, thinner, and more close-fitting, with longer and more extensive contact with the skin. This shift has led people to pay greater attention to the safety, comfort, and breathability of clothing materials. When garments almost become a "second skin," factors such as skin-friendliness,…
