Brisbane Solar Installer Turns Author with New Children's Book Teaching Kids About Renewable Energy and Blackout Solutions

Hi, it's Alan Kemp here-solar installer, podcast host, and now proud author of a children's book that's close to my heart.

Today, I'm excited to officially announce the release of The Mighty Solar Battery - a fun, illustrated storybook that helps kids and families understand the importance of renewable energy, battery storage, and what happens when the power goes out. If you've ever experienced a blackout in Queensland, you know the feeling-especially during storm season!

This book is based on real conversations I've had with families, customers, and even radio presenters. In fact, The Mighty Solar Battery follows the story of a local Brisbane household facing a sudden blackout during a cyclone. But just as things get tense, the family remembers they've got a solar battery installed... by yours truly. Power is restored, the lights come back on, and the story turns into a powerful reminder of how technology-and smart preparation-can literally save the day.

We even managed to sneak in a cameo from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who FaceTimes the crew during the chaos to recommend battery storage as the smart move for all Aussies.

Why I Wrote This Book:
- To make clean energy fun and relatable for kids
- To help parents explain solar power and batteries in a simple way
- To inspire the next generation of solar-savvy Aussies
- And to celebrate the Queensland Government's 2025 Battery Rebate, which is helping families make the switch with $0 upfront options

This isn't just a book for bedtime-it's a soft education tool wrapped in a colourful adventure. And it's already sparking great conversations among families, teachers, and solar customers.
