Multivoltage & Multicolor LED Panel Mount Pilot Lights Add Long Life to Industrial Control Status Indicators

LEDtronics® answers the call for low-cost, long-lasting, and reliable solutions to retrofit industrial panel mount applications with the addition of two multivoltage and dual-color LED relampable pilot lamps and holders to its RPLH Series.

Like the incandescent bulbs commonly used in such applications, the new rear-mount and front-relampable LED lamps fit in mounting holes with a diameter of 16mm (0.629 inch), with a maximum panel thickness of 6.35mm (0.25 inch).
The four new RPLH16 lamps offer a choice of 110~140VDC or 220~280VDC voltage input, featuring a cool white LED color together with either aqua green or super red secondary colors - essentially, two indicators in one. They are housed in a water-clear, UL94V-2 polycarbonate lens designed to resist impact and maximize light dispersion, and are independent of the lamp fixtures, enabling both the holders and the LED lamps to be changed.

Designed for screw-on mounting and comprising an integrated modular system, the RPLH16 Series is a complete assembly that incorporates the lens, lamp, and lamp holder. They are an excellent choice for applications where space is a concern and aesthetics a consideration. These direct incandescent-replacement pilot lamps and holders can be employed in panel-mount retrofit applications, industrial control equipment, visual factory controls, audio and intercom panels, broadcast equipment, nuclear power plant and utility monitoring boards or status stations, signaling solutions, motor control panels, as well as medical instrumentation. The LEDs eliminate many of the shortcomings of conventional incandescent lamps and shine even further beyond.

The RPLH16 Series lamp holders are made of rugged, black Rynite® FR530 polyester resin that withstands the rigors of industrial environments and provides enhanced viewer contrast. Holders incorporate captive terminal screws with self-lifting pressure wire clamps that accept up to two 14-gauge wires. Other body features include an ABS black cover, a 3-pin terminal block connector, a black neoprene washer, and a 6061T6 aluminum nut.

All LED light output colors are sunlight visible. Depending on unit voltage variation, cool white LEDs offer a CCT range of 6909 to 12594 Kelvin; aqua green LEDs range from 525 to 529 nm, while super red LEDs range from 632 to 634 nm. Power consumption, based on voltage and color, ranges from 0.2 to 0.9 watts, producing a vibrant light output of 0.6 to 2.7 lumens and an illumination angle of 15 to 80 degrees.

The solid-state design of these latest additions to the RPLH16 Series LED lamps renders them impervious to electrical and mechanical shock, vibration, frequent switching, and environmental extremes. With an average lifespan of 100,000-plus hours (11 years) - and up to 50,000 hours for the white LED - more than 30 times longer than the equivalent incandescent lamp, these pilot lamps operate reliably year after year.

Additionally, they have a wide operating temperature range of -30°C to +50°C, produce almost no heat, and require 80 to 90 percent less operating power than equivalent incandescent bulbs - making them as friendly to the environment as they are to the operating budget.
