Policy Lab Joins AMIGDALA Project to Strengthen Strategic Insights into European Industry Transformation
Policy Lab, a private research centre specializing in big data science solutions for global trade strategies and economic development policies, has officially joined the Horizon Europe-funded AMIGDALA project. The team, comprising economists and data scientists, brings extensive experience in export promotion, economic resilience, and the strategic positioning of companies within global supply chains.By joining AMIGDALA, Policy Lab strengthens the project's capacity to provide strategic insights into the transformation of energy-intensive industries in Europe, with a focus on aligning decarbonization with long-term competitiveness.
Launched in January 2024, AMIGDALA aims to develop an integrated model suite to explore viable pathways for energy-intensive industries to contribute to the EU's climate neutrality goals. This includes modelling how industry can become climate neutral across energy use, emissions, and feedstock transitions, while supporting effective policymaking at both EU and national levels. Policy Lab will contribute to advanced scenario modelling and market foresight tools that project the uptake of transformative solutions under selected framework conditions.
These insights are key to helping industry leaders and policymakers anticipate system-wide shifts and make informed decisions about industrial innovation, infrastructure investment, and trade dynamics.
The consortium is coordinated by TNO and includes leading partners such as BFI, Catholic University of Leuven, DECHEMA, Deloitte, ENEA, European Research Services, GreenDecision, IIASA, SITECH, Sustainable Innovations, and VITO. The addition of Policy Lab enriches the project with strategic intelligence to navigate the complexities of industrial transformation in a globalized economy.
