mycitymate provides online city guides which connect travellers with local knowledge. Venues, reviews and comments are added by locals and travellers and are integrated into the city guides. Therefore, the guides are essentially written by the people that use them. The resulting city guides are much more current and accurate than any print guide written by editors.

Now users can do the very same exclusively with their friends. With the launch of mycitymate “urban tribes” users can create their very own guide to their home city. They can share the reviews they write, their favourite venues, and events with those people that matter most to them – their friends. You can even write reviews and add events that are private to your tribe – so you can ensure that your friends know about that great little restaurant you found without the whole world finding out! On top of that mycitymate provides a list of individual recommendations for each user. Together this content forms an individual city guide that is completely unique to you and your social circle's particular interests.

Keeping track of your favourite venues in Excel spreadsheets, collections of business cards and small pieces of paper is a thing of the past. Now you have one guide to your home city with all the information you collect, all the recommendations from your friends, and all the events that matter to you.

And best of all, you can take this information on the road with mycitymate guides for mobile phones. The mobile versions are already available for some 60 different mobile devices.

The company plans to expand its offering in the coming months. New devices are constantly being added and mycitymate will soon be available on Blackberry and PDAs. Last but not least the company plans to offer its services in two more languages. In addition to Spanish, English and German mycitymate intends to offer Italian and French.
