For Sale: Hyundai Steel Compact Strip Production Plant in South Korea
Hot Compact Strip Mill
Hilco Industrial, a global leader in industrial asset sales, has signed a strategic agreement with Hyundai Steel for the sale of the Dangjin Compact Strip Production (CSP) Plant. This high-quality steel production plant, initially commissioned by Hanbo Steel in 1995 and modernized by Hyundai Steel after its acquisition in 2004, provides a unique opportunity for global steel producers to acquire state-of-the-art equipment.
The plant has a CSP production line that integrates thin plate casting and strip rolling, connected through tunnel-type furnaces. Capable of producing hot strips with thicknesses from 1.4 mm to 16 mm and widths up to 1,560 mm and with an annual capacity of 1.0 million tons of hot strips when operating with a single continuous casting machine. The use of the second machine practically doubles this capacity. In addition, among the listed assets are a 150-ton Electric Steel Mill with Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Furnace and Degasser, a Continuous Casting of Thick Plates and Skin Pass Finishing Rolling Mills.
