Thai Content Shines at Marche du Film 2025, Secures Over THB 500 million International Deals
The initiative, driven by close collaboration between Thailand's public and private sectors, played a pivotal role in opening global trade doors for the country's film, television, and related service industries. This year, the Thai Pavilion facilitated 329 business negotiations, generating trade opportunities valued at over THB 500 million - a clear indicator of the growing internationalinterest in Thai creative content.
The outcome reflects strong participation from buyers and potential business partners across Asia, Europe, and North America.
Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of the DITP, highlighted key deals and collaborations that resulted from the event:
* Idol Factory Co., Ltd. attracted strong international interest in its Thai series, particularly Cranium , which is currently under negotiation for licensing in South Korea and Bangladesh. The company is also in discussion with a Chinese firm regarding a promotional campaign featuring its talent Rebecca Patricia Armstrong (Becky), on the cover of a leading entertainment magazine. Meanwhile, a major Mongolian streaming platform is exploring online rights for Cranium .
The Monk Studios Co., Ltd. is negotiating with a Japanese partner for an animation project scheduled to begin in 2026. Simultaneously, discussions with a UK company are progressing for IP licensing and a potential co-production, expected to launch by late 2025 or early 2026.
M Distribution Co., Ltd. has finalized a licensing deal for the horror film Tee Yod 3 (Death Whisperer 3) with a Mongolian distributor, marking the first theatrical release of a Thai film in Mongolia. The company is also in discussion with a North American partner seeking Thai films for cruise ship entertainment.
Tifa Studios Co., Ltd. received a co-financing proposal from a major Japanese investor for its horror project Tale of Thai Ghost . Meanwhile, Lady Bee attracted interest from distributors from India, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Russia, and Georgia. Talks are ongoing with Australian investors for Say Cheese , while companies from Vietnam and Hong Kong have expressed intent to co-finance Tale of Thai Ghost , with a deal expected within the year.
Film Frame Productions Co., Ltd. is in discussions to provide production services for a Malaysian production scheduled to shoot in Thailand in 2026. The project would be eligible for Thailand's Film Incentive Measures, which offer up to 30% in cash rebates to attract international productions.
The success of the Thai delegation at Marche du Film 2025 not only demonstrates the creative strength and international appeal of Thai content, but also reinforces Thailand's growing role as a regional hub for content production, co-investment, and global storytelling.
