At the High End the furniture makers showed: speakers, record players and furniture from the same tree

The furniture makers from Unterkrumbach near Hersbruck in the Nuremberg region, in the heart of Franconia and north of Bavaria, are the only suppliers who can make hi-fi systems and furniture from the same tree.

It's a shame for the furniture makers that the High End is leaving Munich; I once had a journey of just 95 minutes on public holidays and never more than two hours on working days. Then the fair will be in Vienna next year, I don't know if I have to have it then, but who knows, maybe in support of AMG (Analog Manufaktur Germany), because our cooperation is already a lot of fun. Our wood doesn't really make their turntables any better, but it makes them much nicer! And of course we can use all the hardwoods from the Hersbrucker Alb, so the high-end turntable in the desired wood, the two models are called Viella (the larger straight one) and Giro (the smaller one with three circles).

And so, from Thursday, May 15 to Sunday in the atrium of the MOC exhibition center, we presented our record cabinet for the last time, which has the same circular millings as the horns of our loudspeakers from Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur. Singles can also be integrated into the cabinet to decorate it, in other words, to communicate the current mood to the outside world like a status message. The sound is provided by the Josef S integrated amplifier, which was also milled from cherry wood from the Hersbrucker Alb. A small but very fine system, the price of which is extremely moderate compared to the 6-digit amounts on the neighboring stands and is also understandable given the craftsmanship. This also includes the new Ventus phono preamplifier, an in-house development from AMG, which was presented for the first time and was well received.

The rush of visitors at the fair was as usual, many guests were provided with our cards or yearbooks by the AMG team, where they can also buy the record cabinet later, we hope for as many calls as possible. But above all because of the system, because we are probably the only ones who can make the hi-fi system and all the furniture from the same tree. Of course, a contrast between furniture and hi-fi would also be possible, but thank goodness everyone can decide for themselves with our hi-fi system.

The company was founded in 1988 in Hersbruck near Nuremberg as a holistically oriented furniture manufacturer. In 1997, the newly founded Die Möbelmacher GmbH, which now has around 15 employees, moved into the new ecological building in Unterkrumbach, where furniture and kitchens are custom-made from solid wood from the region.
The range is complemented by the complete furnishing of kitchens, living and working environments, from lighting and upholstered furniture to curtains and even hi-fi systems made from local wood. They have been awarded the Sustainability Prize of the City of Nuremberg, named Bavaria's environmental ambassador, won the Thalhofer Prize and, since the 2005 Craftsmanship Prize, they have been one of the seven best German craft businesses. In 2010, they won the German Local Sustainability Award. In 2021 and 2022, they were nominated for the Lammsbräu Sustainability Award and the German Sustainability Award "Local Hero", also in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, they won the IGR's Ergonomics Innovation Award, and in 2024, their workshop was named the most beautiful in Germany by the jury of the trade magazine DDS. On November 28, 2024, they won the German Sustainability Award 2025 in the furniture and furnishings category.
