3rd Annual SKATESIDE FEST 2025: Building Community, Equity, and Local Business through Action Sports
Free Entry - The Big 10 Celebrates 10 Years of Grassroots Growth and Cultural ImpactOn Saturday, May 17th, 2025, THE SKATESIDE [https://www.theskateside.com/the-skateside] will host the 3rd Annual SKATESIDE FEST at Bill Botts Park in Culver City, celebrating ten years of youth empowerment through skateboarding, roller skating, and community engagement.
What began as a grassroots skate program has evolved into one ofLos Angeles' most anticipated family festivals - drawing over 3,000 attendees, supporting dozens of small businesses, and creating inclusive spaces for families to connect, move, and celebrate. The festival features three activation zones: a Skatepark Zone sponsored by Converse CONS [https://www.converse.com/shop/skateboarding-shoes] and Zumiez [https://www.zumiez.com/], a Roller Skate Zone, and a Family Fun Zone powered by Bones Love Milk [https://www.boneslovemilk.com/].

More than just a skate event, SKATESIDE FEST has become a case study in how youth-centered programming can create economic opportunity and community equity. From the growing vendor market to subsidized youth lessons, the event showcases a sustainable model of cultural and financial reinvestment in local neighborhoods.
"THE SKATESIDE started with a simple mission: more kids skating," said Elena Di Gianni, co-founder of THE SKATESIDE. "Ten years later, we're seeing the ripple effect - confidence, connection, and community pride that extends far beyond the skatepark."
