National Materials Company Donates Road Base For Texas Animal Sanctuary And Rescue Organization

Heidelberg Materials helped Rush Creek Sanctuary, located in Decatur Texas, with a materials donation to address washed out roads.
Rush Creek Sanctuary (BTKL Education and Animal Rescue), located in Wise County Texas, announced today that it accepted a gracious donation from Heidelberg Materials. Nearly 25 truck loads of road base gravel was donated recently by Heidelberg Materials [https://www.heidelbergmaterials.us/] to help the non-profit that helps with equine rescue, Scout camp outs, and animal therapy for disabled veterans and those with special needs. Due to washed out roads within the sanctuary's property, the rescue service could not operate safely, but now they can at their location in Decatur, Texas.

A representative from Rush Creek Sanctuary said, "Thank you to Heidelberg Materials for the 25 truck loads of road base to help us, as our roads were washed out due to recent storms. We recently have increased our attempts to rescue horses from being sent to places which ultimately lead to their consumption by humans. The ability to have stable access on the roads at our location increase the chances we have to save more horses and other animals from this kind of fate and similar outcomes."

Integrating educational training and recreational programs for those of all ages; such as Veterans and those with special needs through our animal rescue program enables us to capture the synergies of our combined humanitarian efforts."
