igus Reaches One-billion Mark In Sales And Increases The Number Of Active Customers By 5%

igus achieved €1.105 billion in sales and launched 277 new lubrication-free motion plastics products in 2025, despite a 2.5% decline in turnover. Their innovations include PTFE-free materials, recycled energy chains, and a humanoid robot.

igus CEO Tobias Vogel highlighted the impact of changing political and economic conditions, emphasizing the company's focus on savings, efficiency, and customer benefits. Despite challenges, igus introduced 277 new motion plastics products and invested over €350 million in Cologne over the past five years, expanding their production and research facilities.

Global investments for even greater customer proximity
igus CEO Michael Blass emphasized customer-centric investments, including expansions in Shanghai, Bangalore, and the USA, and new testing areas for low-cost robotics in ten countries. igus is also expanding branches in Japan, Spain, Taiwan, and Poland, and enhancing assembly capacities in southern Germany and automation solutions in Cologne.

igus is enhancing customer proximity in Germany by acquiring elko Verbindungstechnik to build assembly capacities in southern Germany. elko specializes in cables and connectors for machine tools and the automotive industry. At the Cologne site, igus is investing in automation solutions like patented crimp towers and AGVs to streamline processes and boost throughput.

On the right track to CO2 neutrality
igus has achieved 92% of its CO2-neutral target for buildings and production by the end of 2025. They are implementing sustainability measures like façade greening, photovoltaic systems, and using waste heat for heating to improve further.

277 new products for the future of industry
igus is integrating sustainability into product innovations, presenting PTFE-free plain bearings and recycled energy chains at Hannover Messe 2025. Their Mobile Shore Power Outlet for ships is already in use and nominated for the Hermes Award. igus is also developing cost-effective products like the glide-chain G4.42 and a humanoid robot made of high-performance plastic, showcasing their commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility
