LAS VEGAS NON-PROFIT OFFERS FREE CLASSES TO VETERANS STARTING APRIL 7

Gary Scaife, a Vietnam War Navy veteran, knows that veterans face PTSD, alienation, and feeling alone. Additionally, some veterans may face financial struggles. He founded Help R Heroes in 2021 to offer crafting classes to veterans.
"Veterans are able to use their hands and their minds to strengthen self-worth as part of a group. It gives them a purpose. And the business gives them a direction," says Mr. Scaife.
All materials, equipment, instruction, and use of the training facility are provided to veterans free of charge. Veterans needing help with financial support will be offered income-producing opportunities and a route to financial independence.
-Quilting classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from April 7-April 23.
-Artisanal Candle Manufacturing classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 8-April 24.
-Beginning Woodworking classes will be held on Fridays from April 11- April 25.

Founded in 2021, Help R Heroes is a 501(3)(c) charity that provides artisanal crafting instruction for free for veterans. Learning a craft helps veterans gain confidence in a supportive, safe environment. Veterans are paid for the products they produce. Their hand-made crafts are sold at madeinnevada.org and community events to help cover the costs of running the program.
