Mailbox systems, parcel systems and pick-up stations in corporate design

Probably the most striking similarities between all systems of this type are their size and the fact that they should be placed in a prominent position so that they can be found. This almost inevitably leads to the idea of using them as an active design element at the entrance to the building, painted in the corporate design.

This is where cost control comes into play: a single logo is fine, but the professional, full-surface painting of the entire system? You quickly end up in the four-figure range. At least.

The customer supplies the desired graphics and text digitally (usually as a PDF file) for printing on heavy-duty, UV-resistant industrial film.

The film is applied directly during the production of the system in the factory.

The implementation in a practical example

DB's converter plant in Karlsruhe wanted a parcel system that could also be used as a corporate ID statement. It should make it possible to receive goods at any time, be extremely easy for anyone to operate, offer small, medium and large parcel compartments and serve as a real figurehead for the company, if possible with the postal address. And while we were at it: a letterbox wouldn't be bad, but in XXL please, because DB receives a lot of mail. And a bell panel with a video communication unit. The whole thing should be as visible as possible, i.e. outside, and therefore weatherproof and UV-resistant.

The result

The implementation of the plans for the system began with an initial selection in the configurator offered by KNOBLOCH, followed by intensive consultation and cooperation with the customer. In the end, five small, three large and six XL parcel lockers, an unusually sized letterbox and a bell panel with communication unit were produced.

As the doorbell buttons suggest, DB chose a position in the immediate vicinity of the building entrance to ensure that this self-confident statement receives maximum attention. The film is applied by KNOBLOCH with sub-millimeter precision (there is a video worth watching); the entire system is designed to be weatherproof in accordance with the European standard DIN EN 13724, i.e. corrosion-resistant and rainproof. This also means that KNOBLOCH installs locks, bell buttons and other functional elements after the adhesive has been applied, i.e. onto the film, thus achieving even more perfect protection against wind and weather.
