Richard's breakthrough came in 2017 when he and longtime friend, acclaimed Australian musician Harley Stewart, launched a collaboration after hearing Richard's track, Dreamstate. Their combined experience in shaping diverse sounds created the perfect foundation for inspiring creativity.
Their 2022 debut LP, Retrospective, marked the start of a genre-defying journey, blending electronics and traditional instrumentation into immersive, atmospheric rhythms. Tracks like Cloud Hopping and Hieroglyphics showcase how simple ideas can evolve into expansive musical odysseys, growing with each new sound. With renowned Melbourne percussionists Josh Barber and Joe Victory joining the mix, Tsen Ru continues to push its evolution forward.
