Claire's journey takes her across international borders while being hunted by personnel from different agencies. The author seamlessly balances a compelling and enthralling plot around a protagonist possessing superhuman capabilities. I immediately found myself deeply invested in Claire's journey and the unpredictable twists and turns she encountered. The supporting cast -- Ben, Phillip, and Marianne in particular -- is excellent. Each secondary character adds depth and nuance to the storyline. Even the antagonists are chillingly realistic as the much-needed catalysts that help Claire develop even further. Each chapter is filled with high-stakes situations, making it easy to become engaged from the beginning. The razor-sharp pacing and storytelling accentuate Paterson's impressive writing skills.
