Disney's Hercules: A Spectacular New Musical Coming to Theatre Royal Drury Lane For All The Family
Disney's Hercules will make its highly anticipated debut in the West End at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane this Summer. Inspired by the classic Disney's 1997 animated movie, performances will begin on June 6, 2025, and run until January 10, 2026. The talented Luke Brady takes on the title role. His previous stage credits include The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre, As You Like It with the RSC, and SuperYou at the Lyric Theatre. Brady brings strength and charisma to the character of the demigod, who must prove himself to be a true hero to earn his rightful place among the gods. Our hero is joined by his Muses, Candace Furbert (Thalia), Sharlene Hector (Clio), Robyn Rose-Li (Terpsichore), Malinda Parris (Calliope), Brianna Ogunbawo (Melpomene), and Kamilla Fernandes (Standby Muse). The principal cast also features Mae Ann Jorolan (Meg), Stephen Carlile (Hades), Trevor Dion Nicholas (Phil), Lee Zarrett (Charles), and Craig Gallivan (Bob).
The creative team behind the show is a powerhouse of award-winning talent. Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel and eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken return to infuse the stage adaptation with the songs that made the film a beloved Disney classic, including hits like "Zero to Hero", "Go The Distance," and "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)." Audiences will also be treated to a selection of brand-new songs complimenting the development of the characters and storyline.
The book for the show has been reimagined by Tony Award winner Robert Horn and acclaimed playwright Kwame Kwei-Armah. Direction and choreography are helmed by Tony-winning Casey Nicholaw, renowned for hits like The Book of Mormon and Mean Girls, with co-choreography by Tanisha Scott.
Complementing the musical brilliance and narrative are stunning visuals that transport audiences to ancient Greece from Dane Laffrey (set and video design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser (costume design), and Adam Fisher (sound design).
The attention to detail from the production team extends to hair and makeup, with designs by Oscar-winner Mia M Neal and Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche with special effects by Jeremy Chernick and video design by George Reeve that promise an immersive spectacle for all.
