Youth Empowerment in STEM: Alphas and Alpharines Foundation Launches Shadow2Success with Shadow A Scientist

New Initiative Offers Job-Shadowing, Mentorship, and Skill-Building to Aspiring STEM Professionals
Johannesburg, South Africa - In a ground-breaking collaboration, the Alphas and Alpharines Foundation NPC (AAF) and Shadow A Scientist NPC (SAS) are proud to announce the launch of the Shadow2Success program. Set to begin on March 1st, 2025, this initiative will empower youth with hands-on experience, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Shadow2Success aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing participants with real-world exposure to STEM careers. Through partnerships with leading organizations, the program will offer job-shadowing, one-on-one mentorship, and interactive workshops designed to equip youth with the tools they need to succeed.
"This program is about turning potential into success," said Mmahiine Mosana, Founding Director and CEO of AAF. "We're creating a pipeline of talented, confident, and career-ready individuals who will shape the future of STEM."

In its first year, Shadow2Success aims to impact over 100 youth, with plans to expand in subsequent years. The program is actively seeking partnerships with corporate sponsors, government agencies, and philanthropic organizations to ensure its sustainability and growth.

The Alphas and Alpharines Foundation is a non-profit organisation that aims to address the declining matric results in local schools. Our focus is on improving knowledge accessibility by conducting career awareness campaigns at high schools. Our services include providing prospectuses, motivational speakers, stationery for Grade 12 students, and support for applications to higher institutions, bursaries, and NSFAS. We also host tutoring sessions and career exhibitions to motivate and guide students on their educational and skills development paths.
