Press release from: The Luxury Marketing Council

Tampa, FL – (March 2, 2008) – The Luxury Marketing Council, the world’s premier organization of Chief Executive Officers and Chief Marketing Offficers and key executives in the luxury goods and services space, will launch its 17th chapter at a breakfast in Tampa on March 5, 2008 from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. at The Tampa Club. Florida Luxury Marketing Council chairman and Affluent Insights president Christopher P. Ramey’s feature presentation, “Luxury Marketing Today: Trends, Critical Issues and Future,” will explore trends affecting the Florida luxury market, discuss how Tampa Bay luxury marketers can thrive in the current economic climate, and identify new opportunities for growth.

“Tampa Bay has grown into one of the most dynamic communities in the Americas,” said Ramey. “The region’s burgeoning luxury retail sector, its robust arts, culture, and dining scenes, proliferation of private clubs, exclusive homes and communities, and its increasingly international profile make it a perfect location for the next chapter of The Luxury Marketing Council.”

Founded in 1994, The Luxury Marketing Council has set the gold standard for the intelligent exploration of best marketing practices and trends in the luxury marketplace. Membership is open to top executives – typically CEOs and CMOs - from purveyors of luxury products and services. The Council’s membership includes a diverse collection of some of the world’s most famous iconic brands, including Maybach and Mercedes Benz, Rolls Royce, Richemont, Mumm/Perrier Jouet, Brioni, Bally, Giorgio Armani, Bruno Magli, Sotheby’s, Ocean Reef Club, American Express, Cartier, Baccarat, Neiman Marcus, Blue Star Jets, Leading Hotels of the World, Sub-Zero/Wolf, Ultimate Resorts, Ocean Reef Club, Camper & Nicholsons and Bertram & Ferretti Group USA.

Michelle Bauer, CEO of Common Language, a strategic communications firm based in St. Petersburg, has been tapped to lead The Luxury Marketing Council Tampa Bay. Previously, Bauer was a partner in Sextant Marketing Group. She also served as founding executive director of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum and co-founder and past president of CreativeTampaBay.

“We are extraordinarily excited to have Michelle heading up the Tampa Bay luxury community and chapter,” Ramey continued. “With her extensive network and leadership skills, we anticipate that this chapter will grow to become one of our largest and most dynamic.”

The Luxury Marketing Council, headquartered in New York, has established an international network in response to the rapid globalization of the luxury market in recent years. The Luxury Marketing Council Tampa Bay will bring together the smartest, most imaginative local executives to expand their network, share business intelligence and expertise, and spark innovative new collaborations with other members throughout the world. The Luxury Marketing Council Tampa Bay will be the 17th chapter, joining ranks with New York City, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, London, Los Angeles, Miami, Orange County California, Sarasota, San Francisco, Sao Paolo, London, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Dubai.

Monthly forums and presentations, panels, “think tanks,” socials, and other events will provide The Luxury Marketing Council Tampa Bay members with an incomparable resource for growing revenue, expanding share of wallet, cultivating referrals, and securing the loyalty of Tampa Bay’s most affluent consumers - the 75,000+ individuals in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties with liquid portfolios of $1,000,000 or more.

The March 5 inaugural breakfast meeting is complimentary and open to CEOs, CMOs, directors of marketing, and general managers of retailers, manufacturers, service providers, and publications targeting affluent consumers. Members of the media are welcome to attend. Space is limited. To register, please contact Michelle Bauer at or call 727-510-2524 or Chris Ramey at or call 561.876.8077.
